From “sternocleidomastoid” to configuring pods.
In July 2025 I didn't know how to code. A year later I have thirteen products, eleven in production, all built by me, with AI as my main mentor. This is the story of how it happened.

The leap, without even knowing Excel
I started without knowing how to code; I didn't even know my way around Excel. But I'd carried ideas for years that I never had time to build. I watched videos, got obsessed with what AI could do, and realized I finally had the tool to get them out of my head.

Crazy things, very fast
With ChatGPT I pulled off in days what I thought was impossible. So fast that before writing my first app I'd already written two books: El Arte de Sanarse and Legado. AI didn't autocomplete me: it taught me.

TrueSelf and learning the machine
I moved to Gemini for several months, discovered Antigravity, and built TrueSelf by pouring my ideas straight into the AI. That's where I truly learned: Firebase, keys, accounts, how to train my own AI inside the projects.
My hobbies, turned into software
From handwritten lists to EDGE
I brought my obsessions to life. EDGE, to do value betting with hard math and statistics; as a kid I made lists upon lists by hand. Copo-Delivery, for my brother's master's. And a padel club app in Autlán: my first mobile app, fully functional with its web dashboard. The business didn't take off, but the halfway demo won them over.

The monster that started as a hobby
Fed up with medicine's horrible systems, I moved to Claude, which became my favorite toy since they gave me my first console; it has already replaced it. AMIA started as an experiment: transcribe a consultation's audio and generate the note. Today it's AMIA Health Tech, ready to take on LATAM.
The explosion
A mind running at full speed
With everything polished and my mind racing, I built for the joy of it: EVolve to learn poker, OMNIS to seek enlightenment, Provecho for Miriam and meals at home, AMIA ENARM to prep for the ENARM, and PRIMUM, where I retrain MedGemma 4 and Gemma 4 on RunPod so they don't fail on clinical cases. I went from hearing 'sternocleidomastoid' to configuring pods and keys.
The validation
A stranger paid for what I built
A doctor, a friend of a former fellow resident, paid 6,000 pesos to join AMIA as a founder. I felt tremendous joy: someone who didn't know me validated my product. That's when I knew this was real.
Doctor-Coded
I didn't learn to code to switch careers. I learned to build what, as a doctor, I knew was missing.
Technology can be learned. Domain mastery is lived. That's the unfair advantage: a surgeon who understands what truly hurts, with the tools to solve it himself.
